Hello from the Walnut Grove Cemetery Association Board Members. We would like to thank each of you

for your generous contributions to Walnut Grove Cemetery. Your continued support allows us to

maintain our beautiful sacred grounds. See enclosed list of donors (4-1-23 to 3-31-24).

It is once again time for our annual fund drive. Your gifts to the Maintenance Fund allow us to keep the

cemetery well-manicured and beautiful. Gifts to the Long-Term Care Fund allow us to generate income

for cemetery maintenance for future use. Please consider including donations to WGC in your trust or

will. Your donations to the Maintenance Fund and/or the Long-Term Care Fund are greatly

appreciated. Please specify either the Maintenance or the LTC fund (or both) when you make your tax-

deductible donations to the Walnut Grove Cemetery, P.O. Box 125, Hector, AR 72843.

We actively assess all plots in the cemetery to ensure each interment (burial or cremation) has the

required grave marker/headstone that displays full name, birth, and death date of the deceased. Thank

you to those who have recently added headstones or markers. If any of your family member’s interment

is incomplete, consider this a reminder to obtain the required marker per WGC guidelines. If you have

questions regarding this requirement, please contact board member Joyce Coffman at 870-294-5475.

The WGC board has proposed creating a fund to buy basic headstones for older graves that have had no

markers for many years. If you would like to contribute to that fund, please note that with your giving.

We will also collect money for this fund at the Decoration program in May.

Just a reminder that the WGC has specific guidelines regarding burial of cremains. A WGC board

member must be contacted prior to burial of cremains. Please contact us if you need a copy of the

guidelines or if you have further questions.

You are welcome to visit the cemetery to honor the graves of loved ones with flowers, etc., at your

convenience. Decoration Day is set for Sunday, May 26th, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Walnut Grove Cemetery

pavilion. All are welcome to participate. The program each year is comprised of old-time gospel singing

and a devotional speaker.

Memorial plaques are still available to be added to the Memorial Bridge at $100 each. This is a great way

to honor your loved one. Also, for headstone cleaning information, contact Janice at 479-284-3084 for

pricing and further details.

Our Maintenance Fund balance as of March 31, 2023, is $4500.00. We anticipate another great fund

drive this year for continued maintenance of the cemetery and for the Long-Term Care Fund. You can

pictures of the cemetery to your personal Facebook page.

We sadly report the passing of Randal Gene Crouch (11-28-2023) who served on the WGC board for

many years. He was a great asset to the cemetery board and will be truly missed by all who knew him.

We are grateful for you, our donors, who help keep Walnut Grove Cemetery a beautiful resting place for
