Hello from Walnut Grove Cemetery Association Board Members. We would like to thank each of you for your generous contributions to Walnut Grove Cemetery.  We could not maintain our beautiful sacred grounds without your continued support.  We have enclosed a list of all our faithful supporters from April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022.  

It’s time for our annual fund drive and that’s your opportunity to donate to Walnut Grove Cemetery.  Your donation to the Maintenance Fund allows us to keep the cemetery well cared for and looking good.  Your donation to the Long Term Care Fund allows us to set aside monies that generate income to carry on cemetery maintenance for years to come.  Also, remember to donate to WGC in your trust or will. Donations to our current Maintenance Fund and/or the Long Term Care Fund is greatly appreciated.  Please specify which fund and make your tax deductible donations to the Walnut Grove Cemetery Association, c/o Janice Mitchell, 1464 Welcome Home Road, Hector, AR  72843.

 Cleanup work has begun at the cemetery with the removal of limbs, leaves and old flowers.  New flags for Veterans will soon be in place.  We have a new, much larger, sign at the cross for the listing of donors who made the cross project possible. 

WGC is presently doing an assessment of all plots in the cemetery to make sure each interment (burial or cremation) has a required grave marker/headstone in place that shows full name, birth, and death date of the deceased.  If any of your family member’s interment is incomplete, consider this as a reminder to obtain a grave marker/headstone with the required information.  

We encourage you to visit the cemetery to honor the graves of loved ones with flowers, etc, at your convenience.  The Decoration Day Program will be at 2:00 p.m. May 29, 2022 at Walnut Grove Cemetery pavilion.  There is no scheduled program and we welcome anyone who wishes to participate.  The program will be reminiscent of long ago with old-time gospel singing and a devotional speaker.

Memorial plaques are still available to be added to the Memorial Bridge at $100 each.  What a great way to honor your loved one. Also for headstone cleaning information, contact 479 284 3084 for pricing and further details.

Our Maintenance Fund balance as of March 31, 2022 is $3,359.34. We are hoping for another good fund drive this year for continued maintenance of the cemetery and for the Long Term Care Fund.
