We would like to thank each of you for your generous contributions to Walnut Grove Cemetery. We could not maintain our beautiful sacred grounds without your continued support. We have enclosed a chart to honor all our faithful supporters. As we begin our fund drive for the maintenance of the cemetery, we ask that you join us again in this endeavor.
Thank you for all who donated to our recent Long Term Care Fund Drive in which these funds will help in our efforts to make sure Walnut Grove Cemetery is maintained for MANY years to come. We continue accepting donations to the Long Term Care Fund and welcome you to be a part of the future care of Walnut Grove Cemetery.
. Donations to our current Maintenance Fund and/or the Long Term Care Fund is greatly appreciated. Please specify which fund and make your tax deductible donations to the Walnut Grove Cemetery Association, c/o Janice Mitchell, 1464 Welcome Home Road, Hector, AR 72843.
One of our board members, Jamie Churchill, went to his heavenly home this past year. Jamie was a very dedicated servant to Walnut Grove Cemetery. Another of our dedicated board members, Randell Williams, is now inactive. Walnut Grove Cemetery is a better place because of these two men.
We hope you enjoy all our recent projects that your donations have made possible: (1) We have added privacy enclosures around our three porta potties. (2) We have made several improvements at the pavilion that include the addition of 6 ceiling fans for added comfort, and the addition of more outdoor seating. (3) Memorial plaques are still available to be added to the Memorial Bridge at $100 each. What a great way to honor a loved one. (4) The Peter section located in the Southeast corner of the cemetery is still being developed and some nice rock work has been added near the stream. (5) If you are interested in having a headstone cleaned, contact 479 284 3084 for pricing and further details.
In an effort to keep our friends and family safe during this time of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Walnut Grove Cemetery Board has cancelled the Decoration Day Program this year. The Barnhouse family will present their family program next year. If your family is interested in presenting a future program, please let us know. New flags will soon be in place and we encourage you to visit the cemetery to honor the graves of loved ones with flowers, etc. at your convenience.
Our Maintenance Fund balance as of March 31, 2020 is $3,391.19. We are hoping for another good fund drive this year for continued maintenance of the cemetery and for the Long Term Care Fund.
