2011 NEWSLETTER

May 1, 2011

Dear Walnut Grove Cemetery families and friends,

We are so excited about what’s going on at Walnut Grove Cemetery

this year.  Many of you have helped with our efforts to reorganize the cemetery and f

or that we say “thanks”.

*We have adopted cemetery guidelines effective January 1, 2011.

*We have mapped and divided the cemetery into named sections, rows

           and lots.

*We are making family contacts to insure accuracy in the cemetery

            plot book.

*We are assisting with the placement of reserved markers and later

            Reservation Certificates.

*We are collecting brief family information on those buried in Walnut

           Grove Cemetery.

*We are preparing a mailing list for annual cemetery updates.

*We are in the process of setting up our website:

            www.WalnutGroveCemeteryOfHector.org

*All board members have a copy of the computer-generated Walnut

           Grove Cemetery plot book.

Coffman and Churchill families make up the largest family groups in the cemetery.  For Decoration Day,

we are proud to have Alene Coffman speak on behalf of the Coffmans, Everett Buel “Bill” Churchill representing the Churchills and Randal Crouch sharing about the Crouch family.  Please join us on

May 29 at 1:30 p.m.  We invite you to stop by one of our display tables and check your information in

our new plot book.

We extend a special thanks to James Coffman and his team who maintain our beautiful cemetery grounds.  We also appreciate each of you for your part in keeping Walnut Grove Cemetery a peaceful resting place for our loved ones.

We are changing our year end date to April 15 and for that 10 ½ months, our income from donations,

fees, and interest was $3,476.20 and our expenses were $3,202.26  For the next full year, our expenses

will be approximately $4,000 for mowing and weeding and $500 for other miscellaneous expenses.

If you have already donated this year, please know that your donation is appreciated.  If not, please

consider a contribution to help in our effort to maintain Walnut Grove Cemetery in such a manner in

which we can all take pride in.

The names of those buried in Walnut Grove Cemetery from May 30, 2010 to May 1, 2011 are found

on the back of this letter along with a list of the officers of Walnut Grove Cemetery Association.
