Marjorie Utley Coffman
Marjorie Utley Coffman, of Hector, Arkansas, was born on November 14, 1932, and passed away on February 3, 2026.
Marjorie was preceded in death by two beloved husbands, Louis Coffman and A.C. Utley; her parents; and her brothers, Jesse Condley, Tommy Condley, and V.O. Condley.
Marjorie and her first husband, Louis Coffman, built their life together through determination and hard work. As a young couple, they traveled to California where they picked fruit, logged timber, and eventually started a Roto-Rooter business. Together they raised a family and shared many years of partnership and perseverance. In the early 1970s, they returned home to Arkansas and settled on a farm in Hector, where they built their home and raised cattle.
Despite the demands of farm life, Marjorie and Louis knew how to enjoy the simple pleasures. Saturday nights often meant getting “honky tonk ready,” with Marjorie dressing up, Louis shining his Stetson, and the two heading to Western Sizzlin for supper with Veo and Peachie Coffman, followed by a stop at Walmart. Those evenings were filled with laughter, joy, and love.
After Louis’s passing, Marjorie later married A.C. Utley, a kind and loving man who embraced Marjorie’s family as his own. Their quiet marriage reflected Marjorie’s playful spirit and sense of humor — as she would say, “just to give the gossips something to talk about.” Marjorie shared a close and lasting bond with her stepdaughter, Agalia Baker, remaining close throughout her life.
Marjorie was a woman defined by hard work, devotion to family, and joy found in life’s simple moments. She loved sewing, quilting, and flower gardening, and called it her “therapy”.
She is survived by her children, David Coffman, Judy Lewis, and Callie Bartlett; her sister, Betty Chronister; six grandchildren, Jess Coffman, Scott Lewis, Russell Lewis, Kevin Lewis, Tracey Kim, and Nicole Bartlett; thirteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
