CARL EDWARD TRIPP  Matthew Section, Row J, Lot 15

CARL EDWARD TRIPP, 83, of Hector, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2020, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. He was born January 2, 1937, in Hector, son of the late Millus and Ora Lee Robinette Tripp. He was a member of Evans Mountain Full Gospel Church. He loved western books and movies, but above all he loved spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 children, Elvin Tripp, Hatrick Tripp, Tommy Tripp; and an angel baby; grandson, Robert Brown.  He was a United States Air Force Veteran.

    He is survived by 4 daughters, Carolyn and husband David Barahona, Carla and husband Jim McAlister, Laura Sue Tripp Talbert, and Leah and husband Cameron McKisson; sister, Mickey and husband Jim Donohue; 12 grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside service and burial is 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 20, at Walnut Grove Cemetery with Rev. Darwin Barnhouse officiating under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.

    Pallbearers are Cameron McKisson, Chad Feltner, Anthony Owens, Mike Hues, Roger Hern, Travis Haston, and Isaiah Garcia.

VIRGINIA RUTH (COFFMAN) HAYS John Section, Row Q, Lot 17

VIRGINIA RUTH (COFFMAN) HAYS, 88, of Hector, passed away Friday, May 29, 2020, at Superior Health & Rehab in Conway.  The daughter of Robert and Nora (Condley) Coffman, she was born February 7, 1932, in Russellville.  She married Raymond Odell Hays on May 7, 1949, in the Welcome Home Community, and resided in the Appleton community.

She was a faithful member of the Welcome Home Free Will Baptist church. She served as President of the Women’s Auxiliary, taught all age groups in Sunday School, served as youth leader for many years, and served as

Church Clerk for 34 years.  She loved studying God’ Word and was a member of Bible Study Fellowship.

Virginia loved working with children. She was the first teacher/director of the Head Start program in Appleton, then moved to the Russellville Central office as Specialist and Assistant Head Start Director, where she enjoyed a long and rewarding career. She loved working with staff, parents and the children making lifelong friends with many.

Known as Granny by her beloved grandchildren, she loved spending time with family, cooking Sunday dinners, playing board games and working puzzles. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and most recently enjoyed her birds at the bird feeders.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dennis Hays; a daughter, Debra Woods; and six sisters.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Raymond Hays; their daughter, Linda Sunner (Rick) of Swansea, IL; their son, Tim Hays (Christy) of Hector; their son-n-law, Dave Woods of Lexington, VA.; nine grandchildren: Karen Ehrlich (Taylor), Stuart Bartlett (Lan), Stacy McCaslin, Matthew Gregory (Yenny), Sarah Loveless (Todd), Josh Woods, Amanda Watts (Patrick), Christoper Hays (Erika), and Rustin Hays. Sixteen great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and relatives.

A private family service will be held, Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at Welcome Home Free Will Baptist Church near Hector.  Rev. Ken Lynn and Rev. Donnie Hanna will officiate.  Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Hector by Humphrey Funeral Service.  Memorials may be made to the Walnut Grove Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund, 1464 Welcome Home Road, Hector, AR 72843.  

 

 

 

DELORES (BARNHOUSE) COFFMAN Paul Section, Row F, Lot 54

DELORES (BARNHOUSE) COFFMAN, 76, of Hector, passed away, Saturday, June 6, 2020 at her home.  A daughter of Loren and Ethel Pack Barnhouse, she was born November 7, 1943 in Fredrick, Oklahoma.  She was a retired cafeteria worker with Hector Public Schools.  She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and attended Rock Springs Community Church .   She enjoyed singing, making memorial flowers, cooking and baking.   She was preceded in death by her husband James Lavan Coffman her parents; a granddaughter, Victoria Jones; three brothers, Royce, Jim and Herman Barnhouse.

 Delores is survived by a daughter, Kim Jones (Jake); a son, Roger Coffman (Suzanne); a granddaughter, Jessica Jones (Sam Shaddon) all of Hector; two sisters, Faye Williams of Hector; Ona Mae Standridge (Jon) of Dover; two brothers, Bill Barnhouse (Delois) of Hector; Horace Barnhouse (Janice) of McCalister, Oklahoma; numerous nieces and nephews and a special family friend, Tricia Uhrich.      

 Graveside service and burial will be held Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Hector by Humphrey Funeral Service.  Darwin Barnhouse and Michael Barnhouse will officiate. Memorials may be made to Walnut Grove Cemetery Fund, C/o Janice Mitchell.

Norma Petty, 90, of Atkins, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2020, at St. Vincent Hospital in Morrilton. She was born July 10, 1930, in DeVall’s Bluff, daughter of the late Dee Washington and Audrey Miller Price. She was a member of Ada’s Bells Chapel Assembly of God Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Petty; son, Bobby Petty; and a granddaughter, Bambi Haynie.

GEORGE DAVID LLEWELLYN  John Section, Row S, Lot 17

George David Llewellyn, 77, of Hector, passed away Monday, July 20, 2020 at Conway Regional Medical Center in Conway. The son of John David Llewellyn and Anna Ruth (McAlister) Llewellyn, he was born August 21, 1942 in Muskogee, OK. He was a United State Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War as a military police officer. He was a master machinist with POM, Inc. for 28 years and also worked for Russellville Machine and Tool Co. until his retirement. George enjoyed farming, hunting, reading, and especially spending time with his family who affectionately referred to him as their “Pa-Pa”. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his sister, Sandra Turney; 3 nieces and nephews, Billy Joe Turney and wife Sherry, Jimmy T. Turney and wife Sara, Margaret Turney Higgs, all of Hector; 5 great-nieces and great-nephews, Brittney Nicole Vincent and husband Jonathan of Appleton, Jesica Higgs, John Dalton Turney and wife Brittany, both of Hector, Ethan Daniel Higgs and wife Ryan of London, and Elizabeth Brown and husband Charles of Welcome Home; 12 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and numerous extended family. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Hector by Humphrey Funeral Service. Pastor Scott Garrison will officiate. HANLEY, SAMMY LYNN, 83, of Russellville, passed away Monday, August 17, 2020, at Conway Regional Medical Center. He was born March 5, 1937, in Newport, son of the late Samuel Aubrey Hanley and Irene McFadden Hanley. He was a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce and the Beedeville School Board.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, James and Raymond Hanley; and a sister, Sally Luckner.

He is survived by his wife, Jan; sons, Craig Hanley, Chad Hanley, and Shane Anderson; daughter, Stephanie Hanley; sister, Jackie Sue Peacock; grandchildren, Brandon Hanley, Tori Hanley, Alec Hanley, Ryane Hanley, Kalli Bluhm, Zae Hanley, Jeffrey Hanley, and Cali Love; and great-grandchildren, Evan Richardson, Cameron Marsh, Kadence Bluhm, Natalie Love, and Payton Love.

He has left behind many friends and loved ones who will think of and miss him daily.

Graveside service and burial is 2:30 PM, Friday, August 21, at Walnut Grove Cemetery with Bro. Shane Kasper officiating under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation will be held 1:00-2:00 PM, prior to services, at the funeral home.

 

 

 

WANDA JOYCE (PRUITT) JONES  Moses Section, Row F, Lot 10WANDA JOYCE PRUITT JONES, 61, of Dover, went to be with the Lord on August 27, 2020.

She was born May 13, 1959 in Fairbanks, Alaska to Leroy Pruitt and Lucille Nelson.  She leaves behind her loving husband and partner of 41 years, Bruce Jones. She is also survived by her mother, Lucille Pruitt; and sister, Donna Pruitt, both of Benton; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and 2 canine kids, Kody Joe and Beau, who will be lost without her.We will miss her sweet smile.

A private burial will be held at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Hector on August 28, 2020 at 2 p.m. under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.

Roger Dale Harlin, 73, of Hector, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2020, at the Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home. He was born January 31, 1947, in Des Arc, son of the late Carl Franklin Harlin and Pauline Christine Clark Harlin.

He is survived by his wife, Dianna Kay Harlin; son, Carl Harlin and wife Michelle; 2 brothers, George Harlin and Jewel “Joe” Harlin; 2 granddaughters; 2 grandsons; and a host of other family and friends.

Graveside service and burial will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 1, at Walnut Grove Cemetery with Rev. Tony Haley officiating under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.

GLENDALE RAY “Glen” PARRISH, 69, of Hector, passed away Friday, September 4, 2020, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Russellville. He was born November 13, 1950, in Hector, son of Leamon Lendel and Evelyn “Mutt” Nolan. He spent most of his working career as a logger and enjoyed racing in his younger years. He was a member of Walnut Grove Free Will Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; twin sisters, Shawna Beth Parrish and Lana Beth Parrish; and a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth Lee (Kenny) (KP) Parrish and Nancy Cochran Parrish.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sharon Kay Freeman Parrish; son, Jonathan Parrish (Casey); daughter, Kay-leigh Harris (Tyler); sister, Nelda Owens; 4 grandchildren, Lori, Cole, Chloe, and Lily Parrish; good friends, Troy and Becky Coffman, Frankie Branch, and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside service and burial is 2:00 PM, Friday, September 11, at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Hector with Bro. Troy Coffman and Bro. James Chronister officiating under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.

LUCILLE (NELSON) PRUITT  Moses Section, Row F, Lot 09

LUCILLE (NELSON) PRUITT, 82, of Benton, formerly of Dover, went to be with the Lord on September 11, 2020. She was born the 3rd child of 9 to Willie and Elsie Dotson Nelson on May 23, 1938. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Pruitt; daughter, Wanda Jones; son, Gary Pruitt; 2 sisters; and 4 brothers.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Pruitt; son-in-law, Bruce Jones; sisters, Freda Robertson (Wayne) and Ora Mae Cross (Donald); sister-in-law, Lawana Nelson (Johnny); and godson, Zachary Brimer.

She married her husband in her senior year of high school in 1958 and was a military wife for 20 years. They never had grandchildren, but she loved her grand-dogs, Beau, Kody Joe, Shelby and Zoie. Private services at Walnut Grove Cemetery at !:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2020.  Mom stayed faithful to the Lord and is with Him now. 

 

 

 

 

ELBERT (WHITEY) LEO VAUGHAN  Matthew Section, Row R Lot 18

ELBERT “WHITEY” LEO VAUGHAN, 83 of Russellville, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.  He was born May 25, 1937 in Moreland to the late Rev DA and Callie Romines Vaughan .

 He is survived by his daughters, Suzanne Mears of Dover, Cheryl Flippo & husband John of Pottsville; four grandchildren, Lance Mears & wife Danielle of Russellville, Jordan Mears of Little Rock, Shelby Flippo & Sydney Flippo of Pottsville; one great grandchild, Bennett Leo James Mears of Russellville; step daughter, Brandy Lemley Pitts & children Jacob and Mia Pitts of Atkins; two brothers, Leon Vaughan & wife Nona of Dover, Gearl Don Vaughan & wife Sherry of Dallas, TX.; several nieces, nephews, family and many friends.

 Whitey graduated from Dover high where he excelled in baseball and basketball receiving an athletic award at graduation. He retired after a 33 year career with Contel Telephone Company. He then was owner/operator of Whitey Vaughan Bushhogging business for over 40 years. He was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church where as a young man he served as co director of the youth department. He served as a member of the AR Army National Guard and was a founding member of the Pope county mounted patrol. He was also a member of the Pope County Riding Club for many years.

 Private family burial will be 2pm Saturday, October 24,2020 at Walnut Grove cemetery in Hector, AR officiated by Brother David Downum. Masks are required. Arrangements are under the direction of Russellville Family Funeral.

Raymond D. Blackwell, 76, of Appleton, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2020, at his home. He was born February 1, 1944, son of the late Hobert and Ruthie Rainwater Blackwell. He was self-employed for 45 years as a contractor and had master licenses in heat and air, electrical and plumbing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, William Blackwell, and a great-grandson, Chris Jenkins, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Melinda Blackwell; 2 daughters, Milinda Jenkins (Frank Arthur), and Aneva Crawley; sister, Diane Barefield (Joe); 7 grandchildren, Chris, Dalton, Ashley, Margaret, Dustin, Tosha, and Tiffany; 16 great-grandchildren; a niece, Louise Cothren (Scott); 2 nephews, Junior Blackwell and Alvin Barefield; and several other family and friends.

Funeral services are 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 11, at Evans Mt. Full Gospel Church with Bro. Darwin Barnhouse and Chaplain Will Doughty officiating. JAMES ODELL CHRONISTER, SR., 81, of Hector, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Russellville. He was born September 14, 1939, in Atkins, son of the late Charley and Jamie Burris Chronister. He retired from the forestry service after 32 years and ran a cattle farm, played music, loved hunting and listening to his dogs run, especially Cigar, and enjoyed working on his old cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters; and 3 brothers-in-law.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Chronister; children, James and Mary Chronister, Betty and Jeff Vincent, J.L. and Adona Chronister, Carlyn Myers, David and Donna Chronister, Janet Chronister, Crystal and Travis Ward; 1 sister, Kathryn and Ray Ryals; a host of nieces and nephews; 15 grandchildren; and 17-great-great grandchildren.

FOREST JUNIOR FURGERSON, 86, of Atkins, passed away Friday, December 18, 2020, at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. He was born January 4, 1934, in Russellville, son of the late Freelan and Ethel Choate Furgerson. He was of the Assembly of God faith, loved football and war movies, and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Susan Long; a brother; and 4 sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline Furgerson; son, Michael Furgerson; daughter, Pam Adams; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family members who are all loved dearly.Graveside service and burial is 3:00 PM, Monday, December 21, at Walnut Grove Cemetery with Rev. SHARON KAY (RACKLEY) JORDAN  Moses Section, Row H, Lot 04

Sharon Kay Jordan, 72, of Hector, died Monday, December 28, 2020 at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Russellville.  The daughter of Shirley and Willia Yarber Rackley, she was born February 16, 1948 in Nogo, AR.  Kay married the love of her life, Gary Jordan. Before retiring, Kay was a 

Custodian at Hector High School.  She enjoyed quilting and loving her family brought her such joy and everyone who knew her always knew of her genuine love for them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Glenn Rackley, Charles Rackley; and a sister, Jean Collins.

Kay is survived by her husband, Gary Don Jordan; sons Wesley and Chanda Jordan, and Shannon Jordan; grandsons, Braden Jordan and Chase Jordan; one sister, Lea and Lloyd Standridge as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Private Family Graveside Service will be held, Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Walnut Grove Cemetery under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.  Jeremy Mathis will officiate.

Raymond Odell Hays, 90, of Hector, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2021, at Baptist Little Rock. He was born February 8, 1930, in Russellville, son of the late Odus and Gracie (Parrish} Hays. He married Virginia Ruth Coffman on May 7, 1949, in the Welcome Home Community, and resided in the Appleton community.

He was a faithful and dedicated member of the Welcome Home Free Will Baptist church. He joined the church in 1960 and served as a deacon since 1984. He was a skilled and gifted carpenter. He was instrumental in all church building projects. In 1999 the completion of the new Baptistry addition was dedicated in his honor. He built and oversaw many houses and buildings in the river valley area. Known as Papa by his beloved grandchildren, he loved spending time with family, telling stories from his past from New Jersey to California, going fishing and hunting, and teaching woodworkHe was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dennis Hays, a daughter, Debra Woods, and 4 brothers.

He is survived by a daughter, Linda Sunner (Rick} of Swansea, IL.; a son, Tim Hays (Christy) of Hector; a son-in-law, Dave Woods of Lexington, VA.; a sister, Evelyn Moore of Oregon; 9 grandchildren, Karen Ehrlich (Taylor}, Stuart Bartlett (Lan), Stacy Mccaslin; Matthew Gregory (Yenny), Sarah Loveless (Todd}, Josh Woods; Amanda Watts (Patrick), Christoper Hays (Erika), and Rustin Hays; 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.

EUGENE W. (GENE) CULWELL  Abraham Section, Row C, Lot 18

Gene W. Culwell, 82, of Russellville passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Atkins Nursing and Rehab. He was born May 9, 1938 in Dyess, Arkansas to the late Charles F. and Cloe Housley Culwell. He was a member of Caglesville Community Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Della Culwell and 4 brothers; 3 sisters; a son, Raymond Hamilton.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Culwell; children, Karen (Mike Hokhold), Aaron Culwell (Christy), Pam Curtis, Sandra Davis, Jody Hamilton, JoAnn Hamilton; 1 sister, Shirley Weatherly; 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, February 8, at Lemley Chapel with Bro. Tony Haley and Bro. Larry Don Smith officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation will be 2:00-4:00 PM, Sunday, February 7, at Lemley Chapel.

Pallbearers are Reece Culwell, Alan Judd, Dustin Curtis, Jayden Curtis, Jeremy Curtis and B.J. Reid. Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Gray, Tony Gray, Darwin Barnhouse, Kenneth Hurley and Donny Haley.

JOYCE ADLEE (MARABLE) DAVIS, age 94, of Hector, died Sunday, February 7, 2021, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.  She was born August 20, 1926, in Hector to James Zachariah and Roxie Churchill Marable.

She was a member of Hector Freewill Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, Paul Harold Voss, William Hays Carr and Evert Frank Davis; son, Keith Voss; and daughter, Judy Hill; and two grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Linda Voss, David and Donna Davis and Donnie and Michelle Voss; two daughters and son-in-law, Paulette and Boone Clairday and Karen Voss; 18 grandchildren and their spouses, Sean and Donna Hudson, Brent and Jennifer Hudson, Scotty and Trisha Goodyear, Stoney and Cindy Goodyear, Tammy Crow, Gerald Voss, Kenny Voss, Katherine and Christopher Dawson, Shane Voss, Jessica and John Freeman, Jacob and Rhianna Davis, Chelsea and Steven Troyke, Zachary and Amber Voss, Joshua and Anna Voss, Matthew Ryan Voss, Tim and Melinda Chisum, Sherri and Jason Harvey, and Jamie and Krystal Chisum; and 45 great-grandchildren.

An open viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, from 10:00 a.m., until 4:00 p.m., at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 11, 2021, at Walnut Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Terry Latham officiating and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

 

 

 

LESTER LEON FULMER  Calvary Section, Row S, Lot 14

Lester Leon Fulmer, age 75, of Russellville went home to the Lord on Friday, February 12, 2021.  He passed peacefully, surrounded by his family, at his home. He was born November 5, 1945, in Scranton to Hurley Fulmer and Mary Anderson Fulmer Mink.

He was a member of Point Remove Primitive Baptist Church in Russellville.  He was happily married to his devoted wife and caregiver, Linda Coffey Fulmer.  They were married for 55 years.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and spending time with family and friends.  He was an inspiration to all who knew him.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-dad, Alton Mink; five brothers; one sister; one step-brother; and one step-sister.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Coffey Fulmer; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca (Becky) and Gary Harvey of Russellville and Charlotte and Tim Montgomery of Cabot; six grandchildren, John Harvey (Oliva) of Mulberry, Florida, Seth Harvey (Christy) of Russellville, Alex Montgomery (Kelly) of Searcy, Micah and Beth Montgomery of Lonoke, Elijah Montgomery (Kada) of Cabot and Audrey Montgomery of Cabot; two great-grandsons, James Harvey of Mulberry, Florida and Callan Montgomery of Searcy; and one great-grandson, Cash Montgomery of Lonoke, due in April.

A family conducted memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 14, 2021, at Point Remove Primitive Baptist Church with his sons-in-law, Pastor Gary Harvey and Tim Montgomery officiating. Burial was private in Walnut Grove Cemetery and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

 

 

 

DONALD RAY MCCUIN John Section, Row O, Lot 35

Donald Ray McCuin, age 92, of Russellville died Thursday, March 4, 2021, at his home.  He was born August 16, 1928, in Hector to Willie Roy and Sylvia Marie Condley McCuin.

He was a United States Army Veteran and worked for the Hector School Systems for 25 years.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Josephine Hamilton McCuin.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Rosie McCuin; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Linda McCuin of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Feller and Lisa Chambers of Hector; three daughters and a son-in-law, Suzanne and Roger Coffman of Hector, Kimberly Chambers of Alabama and Jennifer Holman of Russellville; a brother, Bill McCuin of Texas; three sisters, Anna Coffman of Hector, Louise Hubbard of Morrilton and Alene Coffman of Little Rock; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.

A family conducted memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at Welcome Home Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Hanna officiating, and burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery at Hector.

MELINDA JUNE (CONDLEY) CALVERT CLARK, age 63, OF Abilene, Texas died February 20, 2021.  She was born May 19 1957, in Topeka, Kansas to Jessie Condley Jr. and Mary Lucille Church Condley.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lucille Church Condley, and a son, Brian Joseph Calvert and a brother Tim Condley.

Survivors include her father, Jessie Condley Jr. of Hattieville; daughter Sonya Calvert Sparks, son Gary Calvert, two brothers Ronald Todd Condley and Steve Condley; and other relatives and friends.

A family conducted memorial service will be held March 20, 2021 at Walnut Grove Cemetery near Hector.
