 Greetings from the Walnut Grove Cemetery of Hector board!

Thank you for your ongoing support—your donations help keep our cemetery well-maintained as a beautiful peaceful place of rest for our loved ones.

Our new fiscal year starts on April 1st. This letter is both a reminder and a request for your annual contributions.  The maintenance fund supports regular upkeep to keep the cemetery looking its best. Our long-term care fund (LTC) provides income that helps cover future needs.  Please indicate whether you wish to direct your donations to the maintenance fund, the long-term care fund, or both. We sincerely appreciate your contributions. Kindly mail your tax-deductible donations to Walnut Grove Cemetery, P.O. Box 125, Hector, AR 72843. Enclosed with this letter is a list of donors from the past year (April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026).

We offer a fund to help purchase basic headstones for older, unmarked graves. Cemetery guidelines updated in 2023 require a headstone with name, birth date, and death date within two years of burial or cremation. Thank you to those who have recently added markers. If any family member’s grave is incomplete, please ensure a marker is placed per WGC guidelines. For questions, contact Joyce Coffman at 479-886-3590.

Families often choose to bury cremains at WGC. Please contact a board member before burial and note that cremains must be placed in an existing reserved plot. Up to four cremains can be buried per plot according to WGC guidelines. Contact us for the guidelines or if you have questions about cremains placement.

We encourage you to visit the cemetery and honor loved ones at your convenience. Decoration Day will be held on Sunday, May 24th, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Walnut Grove Cemetery pavilion. All are invited to join for gospel singing, with Robert Pruitt as this year’s speaker.

We invite you to consider purchasing a memorial plaque to honor your loved one. Plaques may be added to the Memorial Bridge at a cost of $100 each. For information regarding headstone cleaning services, please contact Janice at 479-284-3084 for pricing and additional details.

As of March 31, 2026, the Maintenance Fund balance stands at $3,538.29. We sincerely appreciate your continued support and contributions to our maintenance and long-term care funds.
