Hello from the Walnut Grove Cemetery Association Board Members. We would like to thank each of you for your generous contributions to Walnut Grove Cemetery. We could not maintain our beautiful sacred grounds without your continued support. Enclosed is a list of all our faithful supporters from April 1, 2022, to March 31, 2023.
It is time once again for our annual fund drive and your opportunity to donate to Walnut Grove Cemetery. Your donations to the Maintenance Fund allow us to keep the cemetery well-cared for and looking great. Your donation to the Long-Term Care Fund allows us to set aside monies that generate income to carry on cemetery maintenance for years to come. Also, please consider including donations to WGC in your trust or will. Donations to our current Maintenance Fund and/or the Long-Term Care Fund are greatly appreciated. Please specify either the Maintenance or the LTC fund (or both) when you make your tax-deductible donations to the Walnut Grove Cemetery, P.O. Box 125, Hector, AR 72843. Note: this is a new address.
WGC is continually assessing all plots in the cemetery to ensure each interment (burial or cremation) has required grave marker/headstone in place that displays full name, birth, and death date of the deceased. If any of your family member’s interment is incomplete, consider this as a reminder to obtain a grave marker/headstone with the required information. Thank you to those who have recently added headstones or markers.
We encourage you to visit the cemetery to honor the graves of loved ones with flowers, etc., at your convenience. The Decoration Day Program will be at 2:00 p.m. May 28, 2023, at Walnut Grove Cemetery pavilion. There is currently no scheduled program, and we welcome anyone who wishes to participate. The program will be reminiscent of long ago with old-time gospel singing and a devotional speaker.
Memorial plaques are still available to be added to the Memorial Bridge at $100 each. This is a great way to honor your loved one. Also, for headstone cleaning information, contact 479-284-3084 for pricing and further details.
Our Maintenance Fund balance as of March 31, 2023, is $5,256.83. We anticipate another great fund drive this year for continued maintenance of the cemetery and for the Long-Term Care Fund. We encourage you to follow our page and tag us whenever you add pictures of the cemetery to your personal Facebook page.
